It's hard to believe that it could have been 3 years since I added to this blog! Life is what happens to you while you're making other plans! It could also be the case where I did write something, but forgot how to update it on the website, and so it's not actually showing here (!) Stranger things have happened!!
On March 1st, 2018 I sold the Mayetta property, and am celebrating that! Now I intend to devote more time to my Sound Healing practice, actually advertising it!! I have had Reiki I and II training, so I am adding that to my list of modalities used in my overall energy healing protocols.
Check out my art, as I have added a few new items. Some have sold at the Topeka Art Guild Gallery, where I have been an active member for many years.
Also this month of March, 2018, I am the featured artist at NexLynx gallery in downtown Topeka, KS. I continue my art training by auditing art classes at Washburn University. Retirement has its benefits!
Call if I can be of assistance with sound and color therapy, nutrition advice, or just to come have a nice cup of tea!
I missed inserting information in November, but the presentation was on WHITE, which represents Divine Light--all colors of the rainbow, the Ray of Divine Purity.
NEXT, and the last presentation of the series on "Accessing the Way of the Soul Through Color" (title of book by Tama-Do Academy Founder, Fabien Maman), will be on the color GOLD. This will be on Sunday, December 14, 2014, at Unity Church, 9126 W. 10th, Topeka, KS, at 5:00 p.m.
Gold is the spirit of Divine Wisdom. It reveals our inner light and enhances our Soul radiance. The Masters of the Gold Ray are the Buddha, Kuthumi and Lady Portia. Gold teaches sharing, optimism, expansion, warmth and love. It is compassionate detachment. In the Zodiac, gold rules the Sun, which creates the spiritual light which inspires our soul. The Sun rules Leo, a fixed fire sign.
On Sunday, we will wear our closest representation of the color gold, and after the presentation, we will eat gold food (it's a surprise). The program is free and open to the public.
Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014 at Unity Church, 9126 S.W. 10th, Topeka, the presentation at Infinite Source Church will be :
Accessing the Way of the Soul Through Color--the 10th in the series, devoted to the color Pink.
Pink represents Divine Love, linking us with the Divine Mother. Pink is the innocence of a newborn child. Pink is soft touch and tenderness, helping us to let go and to heal. It is love at the highest level.
After sharing our thoughts on pink, we will listen to a recorded meditation by Fabien Maman, the founder of the TamaDo Academy of Sound, Color and Movement. Then we will partake of some food that is...Pink!
All are welcome. There is no charge for this program.
The continuation of the series at Infinite Source Church, meeting at Unity Church, Topeka, KS, will feature the Master of the Magenta Ray, Mary Magdalene. We will open with explanations of the meaning of the color magenta, following the teaching of Fabien Maman, founder of the Tama-Do Academy, in his book Accessing the Way of the Soul Through Color. This will be followed by a special feature, this one time alone, by Francoise Recob, who recently traveled to the south of France where Mary Magdalene, Mother Mary and others were known to have lived following the resurrection of Jesus. She will relate special sights and ceremonies in which she participated, honoring these women. After that, we will complete the program with the meditations recorded by Fabien Maman and his assistants, using color silks and essences to emphasize the magenta.
All are invited to this free-of-charge series which is given on the second Sunday of each month throughout 2014. Call Dorethy Hancock for more details: 785-246-0860.
Violet: the Spirit of Divine Consciousness will be the focus for the August 10th presentation, 5:00 at Unity Church, Topeka, KS.
Violet stands for spiritual purification, cosmic fire: it merges spirit with matter, providing creativity and receptivity to messages from our Guides.
Violet is the 6th Ray of Devotion, where we are led by Saint Germain, the Master of Spiritual Alchemy.
In the Zodiac, violet is expressed by the Moon. In the Kaballah, violet is found in Yesod, the bridge to the other side through moon energy. Violet enlightens the seventh chakra, the crown, linking us with Divine Presence. It illuminates the Atmic subtle energy field. With violet we speak: "I Am One with the Divine."
Continuing from previous months' posts on my monthly presentations at Unity Church in Topeka, second Sunday of the month at 5:00: (Material, as before, has been gleaned from studies with Fabian Maman's Tama-Do Academy of Sound, Color and Movement in Malibu, CA, and from his book: Accessing the Way of the Soul Through Color.)
In July's session, we will concentrate on the color INDIGO: The Spirit of Deep Peace.
Indigo represents serenity, tranquility, an inner knowing that we are not alone. Indigo offers spiritual protection, gives us deep inner strength. Indigo is the emptiness, beyond space and time, where everything is possible. It is the silence in the heart of the universe; it links us with our ionner Guidance.
Indigo is the 7th Ray, of ritual and ceremony. It embodies the Masters of Karma and Wisdom. It is linked with the sixth chakra, the third eye, speaking: "I discern."
In Chinese medicine, Indigo is the element of water, which nourishes the kidney and bladder.
In the Zodiac, Indigo is expressed by Saturn and Neptune.
In the subtle energy field, it is the Buddhic Body, where we learn our divine story and our place in the universe.
The Presentation will include listening to the meditations recorded by Fabian Maman and his assistants, gazing at the indigo silk, applying the essence of indigo around our subtle energy fields, and eating something the color of indigo--probably blackberries. There may be some additional activities focusing on the third eye.
Part of my healing practice, learned from the Tama-Do Academy of Sound, Color and Movement in California, concerns the use of color. Promoting this, I am currently embarked on monthly presentations at Infinite Source Church, on the second Sunday of the month at the Unity Church, 9126 S.W. 10th, Topeka, KS, at 5:00 p.m., featuring a different chakra color each month. I began with red in January, and featuring the following chakras in subsequent months. All are welcome, free admission.
To catch up, here are some points I made on the previous months' color presentations:
"The Spiritual Consciousness of color is transmitted by the Divine Master of each color ray. These Ascended Masters are beings of Light who have developed the mastership of the color to which they are linked." (This and other quotes, below, are from The Way of the Soul Through Color, by Fabien Maman)
1. (January 2014) Presentation on the color red, the Spirit of Life, the ray of the Piscean Age, the ray of devotion.
.....The Master of the red ray embodies the Christ Consciousness of Divine Peace and Wisdom.

.....Orange speaks: "I MANIFEST."
.....Besides listening to the recorded meditations, the orange silk, the essence of orange, and the Tao Yin Fa exercises for that part of the body were shared, we also shared....oranges to eat!

.....In the Chinese Elements, yellow is linked with the Earth element which sustains, nurtures and grounds our soul in our physical body. It is controlled by the stomach and spleen.
.....Yellow speaks: "I ACCEPT."
.....In addition to the color meditations, participants gazed at the yellow silk and a yellow candle, experienced the aroma of the essence of yellow, were taught the Tao Yin Fa exercise for that chakra, were shown the command pressure point of the stomach, and were treated to.... pineapple!
4. (April 2014) Presentation on the color green, the Spirit of Evolution.

5. (May 2014) The presentation on May 11th was on the color Turquoise, the Thymus, which is the Spirit of the Transformation of Consciousness.
.....The Master of the Turquoise Ray is the Maha Chohan, the Master of Masters, who works with Jesus, Kuthumi and Hilarion.
.....In the Zodiac, turquoise is linked with the North Node and with Chiron, for creativity and healing.
.....Turquoise has no subtle energy field of its own; but harmonizes the mental and causal bodies.
.....Magenta is the complementary color, helping to support the expression of the soul through love and compassion.
.....In addition to the color meditations, participants performed the Tao Yin Fa exercise corresponding to the triple warmer because of its relation to the immune system; also learning the "Triple Warmer Song" composed by Fabian Maman. Afterwards, they were treated to hardboiled eggs dyes turquoise.
6. (June 2014) The presentation for June 8: Blue: The Spirit of Truth, and the throat chakra.

.....In addition to the color meditations, participants will be taught some vocal exercises , including overtoning,to aid in opening the throat chakra. The food treat of the day: blueberries accompanied by Mandarin oranges, since orange is the complementary color of blue.
7. (July 2014) Indigo: The Spirit of Deep Peace.
In August I helped a friend move from Topeka, KS to Sequim (pronounced "skwim"), WA. We both drove with packed cars, seeing some sights as we went, so it wasn't all work. Our first tourist spot was Glenwood Springs, CO, where we soaked in the hot mineral waters in what is touted as the largest mineral pool in the country (maybe in the world?), arriving just in time to accept their late-arrival fare of only $11 for an hour.
Today I'm feeling a major sense of accomplishment, having just created two new websites: this one, pluis www.cobcottagekansas.com, which is all on natural building. I'm certainly no expert, but I know more than I did a week ago. At my age, it's particularly good to keep stimulating the brain!
Going backwards time-wise: A major achievement for me was the publishing of an e-book called The Tao of Cob: How a Kansas Grandmother Built Her Own Natural Home in the Woods. You can download it to your computer or an e-reader for $2.99 from a direct link on my cobcottagekansas website. This book if part how-to and part memoir, all about my building experiences with both cob (i.e. clay, sand & straw mixed with the feet and sculpted with the hands) and straw bale. That subject can take up lots and lots of space on this blog, but I will save it for later. My friends are probably really tired of hearing about events connected with that project. Yet it was several years'-worth of my life, and I consider it to have been the most monumental and dynamic art project I ever did.
While it seems unfortunate that I must sell that property, with its yet unfinished straw bale house, I feel a warm sense of satisfaction that during the process I taught many young people how to live lightly on the earth, by composting, recycling, building with local and recycled materials and powering with solar energy, using hand tools, by eating live foods, and much more. With each new phase of the building, we held a little ceremony, thanking Pachamama (Peruvian word for "Mother Earth") for the privilege of using this sacred space on the Potawatomi Reservation, and blessing our efforts on Her behalf. Most of my workers lived on the Rez, and they respected my ways of honoring the earth, as had their ancestors.
I've never had a blog before; and even though I keep a journal and am accustomed to writing, this feels funny. Maybe this will be sort of a journal--who knows? Right now I'm still struggling to put this new website online. so the blog may get neglected for a while.
I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has heard of, or had access to Sound Healing. I believe it is the wave of the future. We are made of energy: in fact, energy is all there is--everything is energy! Energy is obvious in sound waves and light waves--so it stands to reason that by stimulating parts of the body with sound and light, that it will help heal itself. As you can see by my main page, I have studied techniques using sound on the body; and I'm excited about showing people how they can heal themselves without chemical medicines, which usually have a side effect that is worse than the ailment they took it for! I dream of a day when my grandchildren will no longer even think of taking chemicals. I'll grant you that medicine has its place: if I broke my arm, I'd be glad for a medical doctor to set it. But the field is skewed. Many of us who do energy therapies understand that alopathic medicine is needed, too; but most doctors--in my experience--do not grant the same credibility to age-old traditional ways of healing with sound (drumming, chanting, etc.) and energy healing (which we can ALL do).
My name is Dorethy and I live in Kansas. (Toto doesn't live here anymore.) Having retired as a reference librarian, I built a cob and a straw bale house (the inveterate do-it-yourselfer) and learned various forms of energy healing (see prev. pages). I've also traveled extensively and have lots of accumulated knowledge to share.
